Hmm, I have found the "normal" difficulty to offer challenge, but at the same time not to the point of frustration. The game is not meant to be a "run and gun" game.

1st took +500h, +30 attempts and the final being around 60h. 2nd took 266h, 14 attempts and the final being 48h 6m 26s. 3rd took +120h, 8 attempts and the final being 38h 1m 17s. Now I'm doing even more crazy true 100% challenge where for example most skills and crafting upgrades are banned. Expected time for final try is around 100h.

And as per usual in Far Cry do outposts and bonfires as silently as possible. To avoid fights and take a high tier predator with you so animals won't just attack you, a leopard or Saber tooth is great, with a Saber tooth only mammoths or rhinos will attack if threatened, save my life a couple times, also remember the owl.
Im considering start in on hard or expert. I always play games normal but I think with the setting a more frustrating difficulty level fits. Try started on normal or easy you'll find the difficulty is more then any farcry before. I haven't bought a far cry since far cry 2. I borrowed far cry 3. Blood dragon was ps plus and far cry 4 came with My ps4 as a free game. Honestly each game declines and Isn as good as far cry 2 ( 3 was still pretty good) so I would imagine primal is bad. Especially from the gameplay I've seen. Maybe I'll get it when it's dirt cheap

Far Cry series is incredibly easy, like 8 year old easy. It's very ridiculous. I cannot play vanilla Far Cry, always have to play with realism/difficulty mods like Ziggy's, etc. Hope Primal will be better in that regard and have difficulty levels that automatically shut off the in-game cheats infamous for teh FC series like wall hacking and tagging enemies, etc.
As for the differences to the other games, while there are no guns, it doesn’t lack them. Primal manages perfectly well to create a Far Cry feeling without the usual explosions and gunfire. As for the story, this is to me personally the point where it began to go downhill. 4 had an amazing story, IMO the best, but then it went downhill.

Things to do: Try No Border mode or Borderless Window mode, set GPU max pre-rendered frames to 1, open D:\My Documents\My Games\Far Cry Primal and open the GamerProfile.xml, search for GPUMaxBufferedFrames="0" and change that to GPUMaxBufferedFrames="1", this seems to help the most with stutter.
