This is exactly the same system which was also available for the Focus MK2. After approximately 04-2008 Ford introduced the new Stereo Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system which was also available as the Sound & Connect version (Bluetooth/Voicecontrol, Ipod, USB and bluetooth Audio support). The wiring of the old and new system is different.

The heated screens should turn themselves on if it cold enough when you start up. mine comes on aswell mate normally about 39 oF i think. my heated screens come on aswell and mines a late 07. i'm also having problems with my headunit locking out and won't come back to life till i arm/disarm the alarm system.

Posted January 15, 2018. The most likely cause is the failure of the door open switch. On the Mk2/2.5 these are integrated into the latch mechanism which means a huge hassle to replace/repair (I don't regard this as progress although it's probably done for cost reasons). It's also possible it's a wiring fault.

I found that you can enter the Diagnostic panel on the dash the same way as the Focus.For those that may not know - Hold down the 'OK' button on the left side of the steering wheel (when ignition off) then press 'Engine Start' button. You can then scroll through all the different diagnostic tests.
