20 u/flierr13 • 8 hr. ago Ultimate tier list of league mechanics in ruthless I've played ~1700 hours in ruthless ssf, played all leagues and across these leagues I tested all mechanics. This is my tier list based on my experience during these hours. Don't get mad if your favorite league mechanics is not high enough, please. Keep having fun. :)

Utility Flasks can not gain charges while active and have lower duration than they do in regular Path of Exile. Enkindling Orbs and Instilling Orbs do not exist in Ruthless. Obviously, Pathfinder (no changes withstanding) will shine when it comes to utility flasks, which are massive power-spikes.
Specifically, anything with frost damage seems like a really bad idea when you're level 2 or 3 when you have no resists or access to freeze immunity on potions, and your mobility is extremely low. Every time I do a crucible and it's frost damage, it's just an unfun pain in the ass. Especially when tons of mobs will do like 30% chill in one hit.
Elemental casters with 1h+shield built out of a Templar would be a good example. Safeguard, Faith and Steel, Holy Dominion, and Sanctuary all within close proximity. Wearing a white Archon shield and adding Purity of Elements on top gets you to 53% all res without any other gear on.
Differences between regular game and ruthless. I just started my first ruthless ssf char in standard. I'm going for a heavy strike jugg. I want to know what differences are between the 2 modes. I know vendoring rares give you transmute shards and chromie recipe is the same. Npcs don't sell gems and movement skill not going over terrain is dumb.
As someone whose played two characters to maps in the alpha these are my three personal picks Necromancer. Necro getting 30% all res is huge for relieving pressure on gear for resistances and allows you to focus on better bases.
Map tabs go remove only in standard every league until you click Convert, then it gives you a new updated one. Map tab is designed to only hold the new map series every league so the old ones are always converted to a remove only. I have remove only tabs as if my character was transfered from a league over. Then you didn't make it in Standard.
I disagree with most around here and think you can, and even should, start with Ruthless as a new player. Ruthless won't require you to google builds and follow guides to progress, and the amount of content thrown at you will be much less overwhelming. You will naturally progress slowly, so you can try all stuff.
Would still stay away from ruthless until you have a greater understanding of the value/rarity of certain items. Maybe I'm just bad at video games, but I'm like 2.5k hours in and still learning new stuff all the time.
4. You don't have enough damage to just trivialise all bosses, OS them and skip all their mechanics. You actually have to understand their design and how to beat them (it feels like an endgame boss). 5. You don't lose time managing your item filters, neither do you waste time sorting out hundred of drops from maps, bosses, etc. 4.
This build league starts as Jungroan's Cold DOT and slowly transitions to Icicle miner about level 60 onwards when you can get the gear for it and have levels to start picking up mine passives. It utilizes alot of the scaling mechanics for Hexblast Miner (the Rathpith/life stacking/perma Berserk from Kaom's spirit) but simplifies most of the
TL;DR: Should you play Ruthless? Information. If you've ever considered playing Hardcore and/or SSF, you should definitely try Ruthless. I'm not playing Hardcore, since I have a full time job and losing all my progress is a no go for me. I like SSF, but that prevents me from playing with friends.
Ruthless is a mode that makes me feel that is innevitable to plan multiple characters since acts to endgame. The unknow future of gems and gear you will find is what makes it like that. So we need first to make some bank for our account then we can explore other interests.
Most ascendancies have been changed For ruthless. Over half of the patch notes are Ruthless exclusive changes That feels bad man. At this point I would have taken even nerfs Anything to change the meta. P.P.S. The nerf to the Crucible Totem node might be the biggest in the PoE history 95% less damage.
